Complete shutter down, wheel jam strike in Khuzdar over arrest of Baloch leaders

Khuzdar: A shutter down and wheel- jam strike was observed in Khuzdar District on Monday against the arrest of Baloch political leaders and workers including Mir Ghaffar Langove, Sangat Sana Baloch, Zakir Majeed and others.

The strike call was given by Baloch National Front (BNF), an alliance of nine Baloch political groups.

All main business centers, banks and medical stores remained closed in Khuzdar town while attendance in government offices and educational institutions was thin as compared to normal days.

Due to wheel jam strike, passengers faced great difficulties to reach their destinations.

Strict security measures had been taken to thwart any untoward incidents and the personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) kept patrolling on different areas including National Highway. However, some unknown people set two (bread-baker) shops on fire in near Chandni chowk of the town.

The leaders of BNF thanked the people and business community for extending positive response to the strike call and said that Baloch nation would continue its struggle against alleged excesses of rulers.

Meanwhile a protest demonstration was also held in Hub Chowki Balochistan against the forced-disappearances of Baloch political activists and students. The participants of the protest demand the immediate release of abducted Baloch and vowed to continue protests until all Baloch abducted person are released and reunited with their families.
